That was the line on my old homepage.
The joke was accurate. I truly didn’t know what my website’s focus would be.
A new skin
After more than 500 posts, the focus isn’t something we invented. It was rather clear.

And with the help of Codex, reskinning a website is so much easier.
A little history
This isn’t the first theme change:
- 2012: Moved from WordPress to the classic Octopress theme
- 2013: Changed to Greyshade
- 2015: Adopted the Mediator skin shown above
That 2015 skin lasted nearly 11 years. Not bad for something I once called a “more modern look.”
Dark by default
Dark is now the default because it suits these developer notes and, honestly, the hours when I write them.
IBM Plex Serif handles titles, Sans keeps reading comfortable, and Mono takes the small technical details. There is also a warm light mode, switchable from the header or with T.
With that, the shrug can finally retire.
